The Family Reunification Program works with parents whose children are involved with the Child Protection system and are placed in out of home care. These families must be on a current Family Reunification Order and be working with child protection toward reunification with their children. Completion of AOD treatment is a requirement outlined by the Child Protection court order.
Our program works with parents to address the many complexities in their lives including but not limited to their AOD use, mental health, and family violence and safety planning. This support is offered through AOD counselling and Case Management, allowing flexibility to outreach to those parents where that is the most therapeutic way to engage them. The program allows us to work with parents for the extension of their Child Protection court order, which can be up to two years where required.
